School clubs

Aside from all the enrichment in the classroom and beyond, we also run a number of exciting clubs. At Huntingdon Academy we offer a wide variety of after school clubs. Each club is designed to support our pupils to master new skills, discover new hobbies and develop their current passions. Each club is led by a member of the Huntingdon team, this provides our pupils with an opportunity to develop a new skill with the support of one of their role models. Our sports clubs are led by our sports leaders: Mr Jenkins, Miss Liley and Miss Hunt.

Timetable

Every half term, our after-school provision timetable changes, this supports us to provide our pupils with a range of after school activities. Each half term the following subjects are covered: community, sports, STEM and the arts. We encourage our pupils to commit to a half term for each club, as research suggests pupils are most likely to be successful in mastering a new skill if they commit to the skill over a sustained period of time.

Community Links

At Huntingdon Academy we work closely with the community. During Spring 2 Huntingdon Academy will be welcoming The Pythian Club into school to work closely with our pupils. They will be leading a boxing after school club, where pupils will have the opportunity to exercise and work with an inspiring mentor.

Furthermore, Huntingdon Academy will also be collaborating with Nottingham University in Spring 2. Students from the University of Nottingham will be leading a science after school club.
