WOW… what an afternoon! 💚
Over 100 families joined us for our OPAL Play Parent Event and what an incredible celebration of play it was!
Together we dug, painted, crafted, built, imagined, explored, climbed, created and, most importantly, played. It was wonderful to see parents and carers experiencing the magic of OPAL alongside their children and seeing first-hand how play helps our children grow in confidence, creativity and independence.
A huge thank you to every parent and carer who came along and made the afternoon so special. Your support means so much to us!
We already can’t wait for the next one! @opal_east_midlands #OPALPlay #PlayMatters #LearningThroughPlay #HuntingdonAcademy #SchoolCommunity

Year 6 were busy completing their structures project in D&T this morning. They have been following their designs to construct strong, sturdy bridges which include pillars, beams, trusses and decks. There have been some fantastic designs!

Getting creative with clay! 🤎✨
Year 3 have been exploring pottery techniques, carefully shaping and moulding clay to create their own unique masterpieces. We can’t wait to see the finished results once they’ve dried and been painted! 🎨👐

🐾 A very special visitor today! 🐾
Year 2 were delighted to welcome Stubby the dog into school as the exciting hook for their new writing unit on World War One.
Stubby was a real-life war dog who became one of the most famous dogs in history, making him the perfect inspiration for our young writers. The children loved meeting our very own “Stubby” and are now ready to immerse themselves in this incredible story.
We can’t wait to see the fantastic writing this experience inspires! 🐶

Dear YMCA Charity Shop Team,
On behalf of everyone at Huntingdon Academy, we would like to say a huge thank you for your generous donations.
Your support has made a real difference to our OPAL playtimes by providing resources that have inspired imaginative, creative, and active outdoor play for our children. The donated items have been transformed into exciting play opportunities, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, confidence, and endless creativity.
It has been wonderful to see children using the resources in so many different ways, creating their own games, building, exploring, and making lasting friendships through play. Your kindness has helped us create a richer and more engaging outdoor environment where every child can thrive.
Thank you for supporting our school community and for helping us make play even more meaningful for our pupils. We truly appreciate your generosity and look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership.
With sincere thanks,
The Huntingdon Academy Team
